Top 5 TV Panels at Comic-con 2010

Submitted by Kirsty.Walker on July 13, 2010 – 6:36 pmView Comments

We’ll be in San Diego for Comic-Con next week so keep checking back for updates, videos and pics throughout Comic Con week. Don’t forget you can follow us on to keep up with the news. In the meantime, here are our pics for the top five TV panels at this year’s Comic-Con.

1. Tim Kring : SHIFTing Gears – Friday 1.20-2.30 Room 5A

The Heroes showrunner will appear with the star he launched into the stratosphere, Zachary Quinto, at a panel discussing Kring’s new book SHIFT and the multi-platform way he will promote it. A great opportunity to hear from someone in the industry who has really embraced multi-platform, and a relatively intimate setting for two of the biggest genre TV names in recent times.

Most likely Q and A question :  “So…is Nathan Petrelli being brought back to life in the book?”

2. Spartacus : Blood and Sand – Friday 3.15-4.15 Ballroom 20

Having sponsored the lanyards last year and the big con party this year, Spartacus and Starz are really buying into the Comic-Con crowd. Stars Andy Whitfield, John Hannah and Lucy Lawless will appear wit EP Steven S. DeKnight and show some of the second season, which will be a prequel to the goings on at the ludus of Batiatus.

Most likely Q and A question : “When that guy got castrated – that was CG right?”

3. Anti-Heroes of Showtime 4.45-5.45 Ballroom 20

Panels where the participants don’t have anything in common can be a bit hit and miss but this one could be gold. Featuring Michael C. Hall, David Duchovny and Mary Louise Parker amongst others, the panel will reflect on why the bad boys and girls have the most fun, and why we love them so much.

Most likely Q and A question : “Can I come and get a hug?”

4. Entertainment Weekly – The Visionaries Friday 3.30-4.30 Hall H

Hall H is the biggest venue at the convention and with JJ Abrams and Joss Whedon doing a panel together they might just need every one of those 8000 seats. With big genre shows and now big genre movies under their belts (this might be where Marvel FINALLY admit that Joss is the director of The Avengers), these two have a lot in common and fans will be keen to get in their questions. Come early.

Most likely Q and A question : “Can I show you guys my back tattoo of Buffy fighting Spock?”

5. Glee 1.30-2.30 Ballroom 20

Returning as the conquering heroes, Glee will bring different cast members to their second SDCC appearance – among them the fan fave Chris Colfer. Last time they trailed Heroes in the Indigo Ballroom but this time they’re in Ballroom 20 and will most likely win over the genre crowd once more.

Most likely Q and A question : “Will you guys sing us something?”
